Alas, I spoke too soon last post. Catherine woke up sick quite early this morning, which you can imagine gave me terrifying visions of travelling for eight hours with a vomiting toddler, but thankfully she was only sick that one time and was rather pleasant the rest of our very long day. She chattered all morning about big purple airplanes and meeting Daddy in Providence, was delighted that we had to change concourses during our layover in Chicago because she finally got to ride the moving walkways, then slept the entire 2-hour flight from Chicago to Providence. This put her in fine form to sing to Daddy the whole drive home, mostly "Twinkle Twinkle" and "California". I think she recognizes our way home now as well - she announced "Catherine's home!" when we turned into our neighborhood.
Catherine showed Daddy all the toys, books and clothes that were not in our suitcase when we left, played guitar with him for a little while, and enjoyed a dinner of chicken nuggets and carrots. Luckily, she seemed just about as relieved as I was to follow her regular bedtime routine - bath time, warm fuzzy pajamas, brush teeth, night time kisses for Daddy and Mary, bed time story, and she quickly drifted off in her own bed. She did decide to take Cat in the Hat to bed with her instead of Fred Bird, but it didn't bother the routine any.
Mary, clearly, is also happy to be back in Daddy's arms.

I'm glad you had a good trip home. Mike looks pretty happy to have his girls back home as well!
