Porch Portraits and Science Rockets

I was standing out on the porch with Michael and he asked me to take his picture, which is extremely rare. This is what he gave me.

Each one fits him perfectly!

Then one of the kids had my camera and took this picture. Gussie still asks to ride on my back every once in a while, and of course as soon as he does, Edie needs to be held also. It never lasts long (Gussie is 40-some odd pounds now) but it helps him settle down really quickly.

Catherine loves checking out books of science experiments from the library. One of her favorites is the baking soda-vinegar-film canister rocket. It took a lot of trialling before she found just the right amounts of baking soda and vinegar so that the rocket worked, but gave her enough time to get the lid on tight. The rest of the kids were very impressed with her efforts.
