This is the face Mary gives every time she sees or hears a school bus (or an airplane, or a butterfly, or a flower, or a bicycle, or a bubble, or the moon, or a bird, or an ant, or Daddy... she gets excited a lot).
Mary did a lot of hard yard work...
So Catherine decided she needed to clean up a bit. The sunscreen bottle became the pretend shampoo, and they spent a lot of time ducking into the shower (under the lilac bush) to get wet and then Catherine washed Mary's hair for her.
I really like that they can keep themselves entertained with this sort of thing for quite some time.
Mary is still trying her best to figure out the tricycle - she can pedal backwards now, and is getting closer every day to moving forward.
This is Catherine's opinion on many things.
After the morning outside we went to the park. There was sliding...
Swinging...
Bouncing...
And Catherine tried her best with the monkey bars (she was more pleased than this picture reflects):
And of course, rolling in the field.
It looks to be another beautiful day outside - what will we think of for today...

I love hearing about the pretending. They have such amazing imaginations.
