Gussie On The Move

Gussie has been standing solidly for quite a while now, but wasn't very interested in walking. Then he got a hold of a shopping cart in the house and a toy push lawnmower at Grandma's, and the walking thing started to click. Now he's happily pottering all around the house frankenstein-style, and expecting a standing ovation every time he makes it from one base to the next.

Side note: even though the other three kids all walked by 10 months, it doesn't feel at all "late" for Gussie to start walking after 12 months. I really can't imagine him walking any earlier.

Here's some video proof for you. I have a nice back-log of other pictures and videos on my computer, but they're not getting loaded tonight (oops - this morning).

Notes on this video: the bottle he is holding is bug spray; if possible, he is more of a mosquito magnet than Catherine. He is alternately trying to spray the trees and beat my camera with the bottle. You'll notice he was more successful at the camera beating. You can also hear him babbling along to himself if you listen closely. He keeps up a steady stream of "ba-ba-bas", "ma-ma-mas", "da-da-das", and random high-pitched singing and squealing lately.

Holy cow! It's only been a week since we saw him and I can't believe the progress!
