Snippets

After a while I always end up with random pictures here and there that don't fit into recent blogs. Here's a bunch.

I went up to turn off the light in the kids' room and laughed to see Edie had fallen asleep with a balloon in her hand and Michael had fallen asleep with a horse on his head. (Don't worry, I removed the balloon and string from Edie's vicinity before turning out the light.)

Apparently, when your normal napping environment is full of four energetic, non-napping siblings, you develop coping skills.

Edie recently discovered she is *just* tall enough to sit on the balance bike. She is nowhere near sitting and balancing on it, but she likes to walk around with it like this.

Irises bloomed already!

The boys' nice bicycles were stolen over the winter, and in the resulting rearranging of bicycles-on-hand, Mary didn't really have a bike to herself. I had recently picked up a free bike from a neighbor, but put it in the basement because it looked to be much too big for her. But she was determined to ride it, too big or not, and she's actually very comfortable on it now!

Edie was particularly pleased with her new arrangement of the wooden Mass set.

This is a giant tire at the sculpture park. If you look closely, you can see the face Edie makes every time she sees my camera and has time to react. Her picture smile is on point.

Michael Jr is available to mow lawns. It's his new favorite thing.

It rained more than five inches over two or three days recently. Our back yard suffers. The children delight.
