November 2021: Edie's Birthday & Thanksgiving

Edie's got two celebrations for her 7th birthday, first at home on her actual birthday and then with extended family at the family Thanksgiving.

We have a pretty even split at the moment between kids who LOVE when people watch them open presents and sing "happy birthday" to them, and kids who would soon dig a hole in the floor with their bare hands and crawl into it. It's pretty easy to guess which side Edie falls on.

This is the face you make when you're an introvert and your opposite daughter jumps into your arms insisting on picture after picture. Don't worry Edie, he's glad he has you and will even be glad he has these pictures.

Edie and the boys have been in a huge "How To Train Your Dragon" phase, so she was super excited to see this book when she started opening presents.

We've still been going to the skating rink on a very regular basis, but Edie was starting to not enjoy going as much because she REALLY wanted hockey skates (with NO brake) like the other kids had. Thanks to an unusual sale in her size, she got a brand new pair that should last a while. I think she likes them.

Are those birthday donuts again? We were on a real kick there.

I have shockingly few pictures from Thanksgiving. Apparently I made an extremely vibrant cranberry tart of some sort to take with us, and Edie had an ice cream cake. I know there were many other foods and people there, just no photographic evidence.

Grandma also had this fun Christmas tree hat. I think it was for Edie, but Agnes ran off with it.

Oh, back on Edie's actual birth day, she also had her First Reconciliation as part of her PSR class preparing for First Communion in the Spring. (Sorry about the closed eyes - the friend who snapped this only clicked once so it's that or nothing.) Congratulations Edie!
