A Break!

After the last two weeks of living in the underworld through this heatwave of 100+ temperatures, it was finally cool enough this morning to resume our walks to Tower Grove for breakfast and time on the playground. The kids generally don't allow their play time to be suppressed even by the extreme heat, so they were starting to get tired of me constantly telling them to come inside for a break and drink. These sisters were so happy to have free reign on the playground this morning that they didn't complain at all about stopping for a quick picture.

Michael Jr was slightly aghast that I would make such a request, but he complied.

I know this is blurry and fuzzy, but do you see how Mary is hopped up off her seat? Catherine is a good see-saw partner.

And Michael conquered another climbing apparatus on the big kid playground this morning. This is the first time he has managed to scale this one because the steps are so far apart. He was overjoyed.

Sadly right before we waved off the heat we also had to say goodbye to Aunt Kristin, Christopher, and Julian. Michael had a good heart-to-heart with Julian before they left.
