Christmas Keeps on Giving

I think Christmas might be officially over now. FedEx dropped off the last box of already-opened Christmas presents today and the girls were unbelievably surprised and excited to see all their Dora dolls. We also got the box of not-yet-opened Christmas presents for Kristin, Brian and Christopher from Dema this week.


Although there wasn't a single thing in the box labeled "Catherine" or "Mary" they were in no way left out of the fun.

Catherine opened every single gift in the box. She designated herself official present opener for Christopher, Kristin and Brian.

Here's the only wrapped present Christopher got his hands on.


First Catherine opened all of Christopher's. She said, "Let's see what's in this one!" and then would open it, declare the contents, and hand it to Christopher. This repeated at least thirty times for the three gift receivers (these were officially "stocking" contents, so there were lots of little presents to open).




Christopher and Mary were actually pretty content with this arrangement - it gave them more time to concentrate on playing with the toys that were being opened.



For the most part Catherine approved of all the gifts she was presenting.



Although every once in a while she'd come across one she didn't really get, like this art magazine for Uncle Brian.


And the last present she opened for Christopher... well... she apparently does not understand boy toys (watch to the end - her face is worth it).



For his part, Christopher was very concerned that we were throwing out the best part of the presents: the paper. He tried to retrieve it all several times.
